Preheat oven to 350 degrees

1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Pinch of Nutmeg

1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

2/3 cup butter, softened

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup molasses

2 eggs

1 cup of dark chocolate chunks (at least 50% I used 70%) you can cut up a dark chocolate bar or I used Ghirardelli chocolate discs that I picked up from the Lindt outlet store.

Mix together the butter and sugar until light & fluffy. Stir in the eggs and molasses until combined. In a separate bowl sift together all of the dry ingredients. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the molasses mixture until just combined. Stir in chocolate chunks. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and flatten slightly on a lined cookie sheet. Place the cookies about 2 inches apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes. Let cool on a cooling rack and enjoy! Store cookies in an airtight container.
